NEXUS LINE Linear Pendant Light: dimming and protocols

NEXUS LINE is the linear LED pendant in the range that is defined by its electronics. It comes in three finishes —anodised aluminium, white and black— and in lengths of 112, 140 and 197 cm, with colour temperatures of 3000K, 4000K and 6000K. It hangs from the ceiling and works as a continuous line at whatever mounting height you decide.

Selectable driver: non-dimmable, 0-10V, TRIAC and DALI

When you configure the product you choose the Osram driver you need: non-dimmable, 0-10V, TRIAC or DALI version. That decision is made before you buy, because it determines which control system you will be able to run the fitting with.

When to choose each dimming protocol

0-10V dims using an analogue voltage signal: simple and common when control is centralised in a panel. TRIAC dims by chopping the waveform of the supply line itself, so it takes advantage of the existing wiring and works with compatible wall dimmers. DALI is a digital, addressable protocol: every fitting has its own address, they can be grouped and scenes reprogrammed without rewiring, and it is the natural choice when the installation grows or is integrated into a management system. If no control is planned, the non-dimmable version keeps the installation simple.
