OSLO DOUBLE Linear Pendant Light: dual light emission

OSLO DOUBLE is a dual-emission linear LED pendant: it lights downwards and up towards the ceiling at the same time. It is available in lengths of 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 m, with colour temperatures of 2700K, 4000K and 6000K and an IP20 rating.

What changes with dual emission

A single-emission linear fitting sends all its output to the plane below and leaves the ceiling in the dark. With dual emission, part of the light goes up, bounces off the ceiling and comes back diffuse and without a marked direction. That gives you two complementary components: the direct light, which defines the working plane, and the indirect light, which fills in shadows and softens the modelling of faces and objects.

Contrast and high ceilings

The most obvious benefit is the drop in contrast. When the ceiling stays dark and only the fitting is bright, the difference in luminance is high and the eye feels it; by lighting the surface above, that jump is softened and the space reads as larger. In high ceilings the effect is even more visible: the indirect component makes the most of a height that would otherwise sit in shadow, and the suspended fitting stops reading as an isolated object in the dark.
