TEXAS Linear Batten Light: how to choose between 3000K, 4000K and 6000K
The TEXAS Linear Batten Light is a surface fitting with a silver body, available in 0.5 m, 1 m, 1.5 m and 2 m and supplied at 24V. In the configurator you choose between 3000K, 4000K and 6000K, as well as the monochrome blue, green and red versions. Colour temperature is the decision you notice most once the light is on.
What kelvins mean
Colour temperature, expressed in kelvin (K), describes the tone of white light: the lower the figure, the more it leans towards amber; the higher, the more it leans towards blue. It does not tell you how much light there is, but what character it has.
The three options, one by one
- 3000K — warm white: a welcoming, soft tone that flatters warm materials such as wood and earth tones.
- 4000K — neutral white: a balanced tone, neither warm nor cool. It is the most versatile choice when you do not want the light to draw attention.
- 6000K — cool white: a crisp, more technical tone that brings a sense of clarity and cleanliness.
How to decide without getting it wrong
There are three practical criteria. First, the light already around it: if the rest of the fittings are warm, a cool run will jar. Second, the finishes of the surface being lit: each tone lifts some materials and flattens others. Third, consistency: if you are going to install several TEXAS sections in the same line, they should all carry the same colour temperature.
Decide the colour temperature first, then the length, and add the TEXAS Linear Batten Light to your order with the light your project calls for.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between 4000K and 6000K?
4000K is a neutral, balanced white; 6000K is a cool white, crisper and more technical in appearance.
Can I mix colour temperatures in the same line?
Technically yes, but it is not recommended: the difference in tone between adjacent sections is very visible. Choose a single colour temperature per line.
Can the colour temperature be changed after buying it?
No. The colour temperature is selected when you configure the product, before adding it to your order.
