MOSO LED drivers and professional power supplies
MOSO is a manufacturer that specialises in power electronics for LED lighting. In this category you will find its full catalogue: constant current MOSO LED drivers and constant voltage MOSO power supplies in 12V and 24V. What sets the brand apart is the combination of programmable drivers, dimming by DALI-2, 0-10V and 1-10V, and versions with IP67 protection for exposed installations. Every constant voltage supply in this category is declared flicker-free, something you notice in offices, shop windows and spaces where video is recorded.
Constant voltage supply or constant current driver
This is the most common question. A constant voltage power supply holds the output voltage fixed, 12V or 24V, and lets each load draw the current it needs: that is what LED strips, profiles and low-voltage modules ask for. A constant current driver does the opposite: it fixes the current in milliamps and adjusts the voltage according to the number of LEDs in series, which is what a light fitting, a downlight or a floodlight needs. Check on your fitting's datasheet whether it asks for volts or milliamps: that figure decides which unit you need.
Programmable and dimmable MOSO LED drivers
- MOSO 80W U5 series LED driver: dimmable and programmable by DALI-2, with ENEC25.
- MOSO X6 LED driver: programmable and 0-10V dimmable, for fittings of up to 75 W.
- MOSO XCP 240W LED driver: IP67, programmable and 1-10V dimmable, for high wattages and exposed positions.
All three state 5 years of warranty on their catalogue datasheet. A programmable driver means you can set its output current before installing it: a single reference adapts to several fittings and you tune the output to the project instead of buying a different model for each case.
MOSO 12V and 24V power supplies
The MUS series covers the most common wattages in 24V —30W, 60W, 100W and 150W— and adds a 12V 60W version. The 24V 80W supply belongs to the MLS series and includes DALI-2 dimming, useful when low-voltage lighting is integrated into a management system. For outdoors or damp positions, the MTS series with IP67 protection is available in 24V 60W and 24V 160W. And for long runs or several circuits, the professional MOSO 24V 350W IP67 supply delivers 14.6 A from a single unit.
How to choose the right driver or power supply
- Type of output: constant voltage for strips and profiles; constant current for light fittings.
- Wattage: add up the real load of the installation and leave headroom. Working at the limit of the supply is not a good idea.
- Dimming: DALI-2 if the lighting is integrated into a management system; 0-10V or 1-10V if the control is analogue.
- Location: if the unit is exposed to water or dust, choose an IP67 version, designed for outdoors and not for working underwater permanently.
Get the reference right from the start: go through the 12 MOSO references in this category and add the driver or power supply your project calls for to your order. If you have any doubts about wattage or the type of dimming, write to us before buying and we will go over it with you.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a MOSO driver and a MOSO power supply?
The driver works at constant current, in milliamps, and feeds light fittings. The power supply works at constant voltage, 12V or 24V, and feeds LED strips, profiles and low-voltage modules.
What does it mean for a MOSO driver to be programmable?
That you can set its output current before installing it, so a single reference works for different fittings and wattages.
Which dimming systems do MOSO drivers accept?
The 80W U5 series is dimmable by DALI-2, the X6 by 0-10V and the 240W XCP by 1-10V. Among the power supplies, the 24V 80W from the MLS series also accepts DALI-2.
Can I install a MOSO power supply outdoors?
The versions with IP67 protection, the MTS series and the 24V 350W supply, are prepared for positions exposed to water and dust.
