Vintage LED bulbs: Edison, retro, amber filament and globe

Vintage LED bulbs bring an unbeatable retro charm, combining the look of classic filament lamps with the efficiency and durability of LED technology. At FactorLED you will find Edison LED bulbs, retro LED bulbs, amber filament LED bulbs, vintage globe LED bulbs and spiral filament LED bulbs to create spaces with real character.

Edison LED bulb and amber filament

The Edison LED bulb is the classic of classics, with its visible filament and warm 2200K amber light. A perfect choice for bars, restaurants, country houses and homes with an industrial or Nordic feel. The LED filament reproduces the golden line of the old incandescent while using a fraction of the energy.

Vintage globe LED bulb and retro shapes

Vintage globe LED models stand out for their generous bulb and their elegance: the spherical glass lets you follow the filament along its whole run and, together with Edison style tubular shapes and candle bulbs, they make up the classic retro repertoire. With no shade, their soft golden light becomes the real decorative centrepiece of the room.

Spiral filament LED bulb

The spiral filament LED bulb features a decorative filament shaped as a helix or a heart, creating a look all of its own. Ideal for display cases, shop windows, hotels and spaces where every detail counts.

Where vintage LED bulbs are used

These bulbs go where the fitting is on show and forms part of the decor:

  • Hospitality: in bars, cafes and restaurants the amber filament takes the edge off artificial light and keeps people at the table longer; in barbershops it reinforces that classic workshop feel.
  • Country houses: it sits well with wood, stone and wrought iron, materials where white light would feel cold.
  • Lofts and industrial spaces: hung from a fabric cable or a shade with no diffuser, it is the natural finishing touch to the industrial look.
  • Shop windows and retail: in fashion, florists or wine shops the glow of the filament catches the eye of passers-by and gives the product depth.
  • Covered terraces: in string lights and wall lights under cover it creates a warm atmosphere for the evening hours.
  • Living rooms and bedrooms: as ambient light in bedside lamps and wall lights, where you want to accompany rather than illuminate.

How to choose a vintage LED bulb

  • Colour temperature: 2200K gives the strongest amber, the tone that works best in hospitality; 2700K gives a more natural warm light, more comfortable if it is going to be your main source at home.
  • Glass finish: clear glass leaves the filament on full show and produces a very crisp glow; amber softens that contrast; smoked glass is the least glary and the one to pick when the bulb sits at eye level.
  • Base: E27 for large screw lampholders and E14 for small ones, common in wall lights and candle lamps.
  • Dimming: if you are going to vary the intensity, choose a dimmable model and a compatible dimmer; a non-dimmable one can flicker.
  • Light output: a filament bulb delivers between 300 and 800 lumens, compared with the 800-1100 lm of an opal LED of the same wattage. Its value is decorative, not functional: if you need more light, pair it with another working light point.

Give your space a warm retro touch with vintage LED bulbs. Check the specifications of each model on its product page and enjoy the Edison charm with the savings and durability of LED, backed by FactorLED expertise!

Frequently asked questions about vintage LED bulbs

Which base do vintage bulbs have?

Most have an E27 base (large screw), although there are also E14 models (small screw). Always check compatibility with your lampholder.

What colour temperature do they have?

Generally 2200K-2700K, which gives them that warm amber tone typical of the classic incandescent filament.

Are vintage LED bulbs dimmable?

There are both dimmable and non-dimmable models. For dynamic mood lighting we recommend choosing dimmable models compatible with TRIAC.

Do they last as long as a standard LED bulb?

Yes. Vintage LED bulbs have a service life of around 15,000-25,000 hours, similar to conventional LEDs and far longer than old halogens.

Can they be used outdoors?

Only in covered areas protected from rain, and always inside a fitting with the right IP rating.

Do they give enough light to read by?

On their own, no. Their output is lower and their job is ambient: for reading it is worth adding a directional light point, such as a desk lamp or a downlight.
