150 cm waterproof screen for industrial units and large areas
The 150 cm waterproof screen is the big size in the family: it houses a 150 cm 24W T8 LED tube with a G13 base (two in the twin version) and carries an IP65 rating. Its reason for being is about the project, not the looks: each unit covers more area, so for the same square metres you need fewer luminaires. Anyone looking for a waterproof screen for 150cm tubes usually has an industrial unit, a logistics warehouse or a large car park in front of them.
Fewer light points for more metres
Going from 120 to 150 cm looks like a detail of thirty centimetres, but in a unit of several hundred square metres it changes the budget. Fewer units are needed, fewer metres of cable and tray, fewer ceiling fixings and fewer installation hours, which on site is almost always the most expensive line. It also cuts the number of points to maintain later: every luminaire fewer is one ladder fewer a few years down the line.
Where this size is installed
Industrial units, logistics warehouses, large car parks, farms and agricultural buildings, car washes and industrial cold rooms. These are environments with airborne dust, pressure washing, condensation or corrosive atmospheres, and with high ceilings where going up to change a luminaire is no small thing. There, IP65 is not an extra: it is what stops dust building up on the tube and damp getting into the contacts.
Linked continuous runs
Many 150 cm models are linkable, so you can build continuous runs of several units fed from a single supply point. It is the usual way to light a racking aisle or a loading lane: the line follows the axis of the aisle, the light arrives evenly from one end to the other and the wiring is reduced to one section per line. The cable glands maintain the protection rating at every cable entry.
One tube or two depending on the height
At 24W per tube, the single tube version covers moderate ceilings and circulation areas well. In units with high ceilings, or where product is handled and you need to read labels and detail, the twin tube version doubles the power per luminaire and lets you keep the same mounting grid instead of adding more points. The usual colour temperature in these spaces is 4000K for work areas and 6000K when a sense of brightness is the priority.
At FactorLED you have the 150 cm waterproof screen in single and twin tube versions, with the 24W T8 tubes to equip and restock it. If your project is a garage, the 120 cm size fits better; for service rooms, the 60 cm one.
Frequently asked questions about the 150 cm waterproof screen
Which tube does a 150 cm waterproof screen take?
A 150 cm T8 LED tube with a G13 base, 24W in the FactorLED catalogue. The twin version takes two.
How many units do I save compared with the 120 cm size?
It depends on the layout, but as each luminaire covers more length the grid opens up and the number of points per aisle drops, with the corresponding saving in wiring and installation.
Can it be mounted in a continuous run?
Yes, if the model is linkable. Several fittings join one after another from a single supply point, which is very practical in racking aisles.
Will it stand up to a farm or a car wash?
Those are two of its typical uses. The enclosed body and the sealing gaskets cope with dust, damp and washing down; in car washes it is worth considering an IP66 version.
