Accessories for LED battens: connecting, fixing and sealing the installation

LED batten accessories are the parts that decide whether an installation looks professional or half finished. Connectors and link cables

Many battens are linkable: they join one after another and run from a single supply point. The direct connector joins two adjoining battens with no visible gap and creates a continuous line of light. The link cable lets you separate them by a few centimetres or get past an obstacle while keeping the supply running. With these you can build runs several metres long with less wiring and fewer junction boxes.

Clips, brackets and mounts

The fixing is what stops a batten ending up crooked or hanging loose. Fixing clips grip the body of the fitting and screw to the ceiling or wall, so you can take it down without touching the screws. Metal brackets are the option for waterproof screens, and mounts and anchors resolve suspended ceilings and steel wire suspension kits.

End caps, trims and quick connection kits

The ends are the first thing you see on a linear installation. End caps and trims close the profile, hide the connection and give a clean finish at the end of the run. Quick connection kits bring together the connector, the cable and the terminals to feed the first batten and chain the rest.

Sealing: cable glands and gaskets for IP65

On waterproof screens, the IP65 rating depends entirely on the accessories. A cable gland seals the cable entry and stops dust or water getting in at the most vulnerable point; gaskets and blanking plugs close off unused outlets, and sealed cable entries pass through the housing while keeping the seal intact. Without a cable gland, the protection stops being real: that detail is what stands up to the damp of a garage or a laundry room.

How to choose the accessories you need

• Type of fitting: accessories for integrated LED battens and those for waterproof screens for tubes are not interchangeable.
• Size: clips and brackets are sized to the width of the profile, so match them to the 60, 120 or 150 cm model.
• Joints: one connector or link cable per joint in the run and one end cap for each free end.
• IP rating: if the area has damp or dust, add cable glands and blanking plugs.
• Maintenance: demountable systems let you remove one fitting without taking down the whole row.

Frequently asked questions about LED batten accessories

What do I need to join two LED battens?

A direct connector if you want them butted together in a continuous line, or a link cable if you need to separate them. Both carry the supply from one batten to the next.

How many battens can I link together?

It depends on the power of the model and the limit stated on its spec sheet. Never exceed the maximum number of units in series specified by the manufacturer.

What is a cable gland for?

To seal the cable entry on a waterproof screen. Without one, the IP65 rating is not maintained and damp or dust can get in through the cable entry.

Do the same accessories work for battens and waterproof screens?

Not always. Waterproof screens for tubes use specific brackets, caps and cable entries, different from the clips and connectors of an integrated LED batten.
