Frequently asked questions about mouldings for LED strips

What material are the mouldings made of?

The most common are made of polyurethane (lightweight, easy to paint, moisture-resistant). There are also mouldings in plaster (more traditional) and aluminium (technical profiles).

Can I paint the moulding?

Yes. The polyurethane and plaster mouldings can be painted with standard plastic paint after installation to match the colour of the ceiling or wall.

Do they have heat dissipation?

The polyurethane and plaster mouldings do not, the aluminium profiles do. If the LED strip is high-power (>14W/m), we recommend an aluminium profile to avoid overheating.

Can I install it myself?

Yes. The installation is simple: it is glued with mounting adhesive, filled and painted. The LED strip is placed afterwards in the provided channel.
