What power 12V power supply do I need?

Multiply the watts per metre of the strip by its length and add a 20% margin. For a 5m strip with 14W/m you will need a power supply of at least 84W.

Is a 12V or 24V power supply better?

12V power supplies are ideal for short runs (up to 5m). For longer distances we recommend 24V, as the voltage drop is smaller and the luminosity more uniform.

Can I install a 12V LED power supply outdoors?

Yes, as long as it is IP65 or higher. IP20 power supplies are for indoor use only and must be installed protected inside cabinets or waterproof boxes.
