Frequently asked questions about LED presence and light detectors

What is the difference between PIR and microwave?

PIR detects body heat (human movement). Microwave detects any movement, even through glass or thin partitions. It is more sensitive but generates more false positives.

Can I adjust the sensor's switch-on time?

Yes. Most LED presence detectors let you adjust the switch-on time (5 seconds to 30 minutes), the light level and the detection sensitivity.

Do they work with any LED luminaire?

Yes, as long as the consumption does not exceed the sensor's maximum load (usually 300-600W). Check the technical specifications before installing.

Can I combine several sensors?

Yes. In large spaces (warehouses, halls) several sensors are connected in parallel to cover the entire area without dead zones.
